The Rainbow Bar Crawl!
Purple at the Peculier!
Part One!
Part Two!
Last color: Violet, aka Purple. Last bar: The Peculier Pub. Our fit of nostalgia led us to finish where we started the August crawl.

The group made a unanimous decision to celebrate with a beer named in honor of the great Jimi Hendrix:

Purple Haze.
Even Mike put aside his beloved Corona for this awesome beer!

And do you see this? Do you know what this is? This is Javier gazing off into the future, and having the prescience to drink a beer before hurl reprimanded him again.

I put some songs on the jukebox, because we needed tunes. I was so inspired by the music that I felt greedy keeping the orange flower on my shirt. I wanted everyone to get to enjoy the flower. I thought that would be just hilarious! Drunk logic is awesome.

Mike was so inspired by the magical flower of love that he proposed to Javier!

Denis thought he could escape the flower by dancing with our waitress!

But you can't escape the flower.

You see this? (Hi hater!)

The Return of Hatless Graham!
Because Donnie and I decided that it wasn't fair that only the bartender got to wear Graham's hat. If I shared my flower, Graham should share his hat. This is only fair.

Sadly, Graham had to leave :'( I got all sad, because I realized I probably wouldn't see him again until I have money to go to California. And right now I don't even have money to pay my LIPA bill, so. But I was so happy he came out, and completed the rainbow with us : )
At this time, I gave Graham and everyone else their favors! I drew pictures of cocktails on little white pails, and filled them with gold-foiled candy – pots o' gold at the end of the rainbow! And each pail had another rainbow friendship bracelet on it, because you can never have enough.
Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the favors.

It was almost last call, so we made the most of it.

Sadly, the bar was kicking everyone out, and it was time to part ways. So home/back to the hotel we went.
And here's where I get all misty-eyed and earnest.
There are a lot of people who say things like, "Myspace friends don't count." This has always bothered me. "It's just Myspace." Who says? And what does that mean? Because last week, I met three people who were "just" Myspace friends. Every single one of them is awesome.
Saturday night, I got the amazing gift of hanging out with three friends that I've known since the eighties, a friend I met at karaoke, a boyfriend I met at karaoke, and three friends that I only know because of Myspace. It was incredible.
I hate the term "real-life" friends. Maybe because I always had pen pals growing up, but I never understood why you have to be in the same room with someone to have that person "count" in your life. I have friends on Myspace that I am 100 times closer to than many people that I know in person. Because you become friends out of shared interests, hearts, sensibilities, humor – not convenience.
So to all of my "real-" and "fake-life" friends out there – I love you, and am grateful for you, and if I've never met you before, I hope to one day :)

Perhaps we'll meet in January! When we will be wishing bon voyage to Donnie at an International Bar Crawl! Drinking a drink from/in honor of each continent! What about Antarctica, you may be wondering! Well, what's better than a frozen drink in January? I hope to see you there. Costumes are encouraged :-D
